3 STUDENT ORDINANCE PASSED

UPDATED!

On September 7, 2021 at the Town Council Meeting, the second reading took place and was passed on the 3-2 vote.

At the August 18, 2021 Public Hearing, the Town Council, adopted the proposed no-more-than-three students per rental household Ordinance by a three/two vote. Council members Pugh, Dzwierzynski, and Kopech voted for it. Council members Murray and Cicilline-Buonnano voted against it.

NPRA submitted written testimony (also posted) that provides detailed justification for passage of the ordinance, based on its compliance with Town Comprehensive Plan goals, along with demographic data that justifies the need for it.

NPRA members together with residents from all parts of Town turned out in force to support it's passage. After decades of setbacks at the hands of landlords, this victory testifies to the power residents can yield when they band together for a common goal and show up in force".
